Show 1108 – Prattville Pickers

When you want to find the unfindable, you head to Prattville Pickers. With 100,000 square feet shared among 300 vendors, there’s something for everyone: antiques, handmade goods, local foods, collectibles, tools and more! It’s a place where the good is preserved and the unique finds are celebrated.

Located in Whistler, Alabama, you’ll find a little restaurant that will have you singing the praises of its barbecue. At one time, there was a body shop and gas station located in that spot, but that business was the victim of Hurricane Frederic in 1979. Facing adversity, R.C. McMillan โ€” commonly known as Mr. Mac โ€” decided his old business spot was perfect for a barbecue joint. Now, his daughter, Carolyn Jackson, carries on the family tradition at McMillan Bar-b-que.

There’s plenty of buckin’ broncos and bulls at the SLE Rodeo. But there’s also a lot of family friendly hands-on activities to enjoy. Learn more about this Montgomery tradition in this video contributed by the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association.
