Show 823 – Sullivan Creek Ranch

After a career as a Navy pilot, Greg Anderson decided to pursue his dream of owning a ranch. At Sullivan Creek Ranch in Vinemont, he’s raising Akauchi cattle, a Japanese breed known for its superior meat marbling. Once Greg married wife Emily, the pair added an artist studio and special events, turning the ranch into a true agritourism destination.

It’s hard to imagine improving something as perfect as ice cream, but one Birmingham couple is up to the challenge. They’re crafting creative concoctions featuring locally sourced ingredients at their Big Spoon Creamery in Birmingham.

Mitchell and Rebecca Henry share loves of farming, faith and Auburn University — where they met. Now, they’re running Hardin Farms in Lawrence County, where Mitchell took over for his maternal grandfather, Clinton. And the work they’ve accomplished has earned them a place as runners-up in the Alabama Farmers Federation’s 2022 Outstanding Young Farm Family contest.
