Show 815 – Joe Tom Armbrester Agricultural Center

When it comes to agriculture, the best way to learn is to get your hands dirty. That’s true for all students — whether they speak English verbally or through American Sign Language and whether they can easily see the task at hand or have to feel their way through it. With the new Joe Tom Armbrester Agricultural Center, the AIDB Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind has a first-class facility for teaching students about farming.

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Superman! But there’s also Captain America and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles — plus over 15,000 of their friends, all hanging out at the Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo. And with the expo’s charitable giving, all the attendees get to be true superheroes!

When it comes to competition, Auburn University has seen its share of athletic success. Starting with the last academic year, AU now has a new crop of competitors who are hoping to share in that success as competitive livestock judgers. Find out more about the newly re-established Livestock Judging Team.

Plus, hear from Alabama Farmers Federation Communications Director Jeff Helms, who competed with Auburn’s team in the past.
