Building a jaw-dropping sand castle is a lot more than just child’s play. Janel Hawkins is a professional sand sculptor, and through her business Sand Castle University, she’s teaching beachgoers how they can create masterpieces in the sand. No molds needed — just a few simple tools.

Adventure awaits at Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden, Alabama — one of the state’s most beautiful and magnificent waterfalls. The 90-foot falls is the main attraction at the 500-acre park, but don’t forget to enjoy all the other offerings, too!

They say rain is a good thing. Of course, they also say you can have too much of a good thing. That was the case for many Alabama farmers in 2021 as frequent rain showers made it difficult to plant and harvest crops. Plus, consistent rain hurt the quality of the cotton crop. However, once it was planted, the corn really soaked up the water, making it a great year for grain farmers.
