It’s an all-American weekend as we celebrate the 4th of July, and then bring you our best patriotic stories on the 5th of July.

To start, ride along in a restored Huey helicopter thanks to the work of Friends of Army Aviation based in Ozark. Learn about the Fallen Warriors Project, an effort to pay homage to Alabama military who have lost their lives in the War on Terror.

On a lighter note, we head to Montevallo for a tour of the colonial-inspired American Village to learn our nation’s history. If there was a contest to name one signature American food, Southern barbecue would have to be a contender. In Alabama, one of the best places to find perfectly smoked pulled pork is at Bishop’s BBQ in Colbert County.
