For 60 years, the Alabama Farmers Federation has been training high school students to become the next group of young leaders. This year, however, the teens learned that sometimes leadership is more about serving others than it is being at the front of the line.

Fred Hunter’s Alabama goes to the mountain village of Mentone to visit an artist who sees vivid color in everything she puts her brush to. Among other things, art in all its forms has the power to give you a new perspective on the world through the eyes of its creator. That’s certainly the case with Lydia Randolph, whose points showcase her DeKalb County home in brilliant color.

Understanding the true costs of day-to-day living can be a challenge for young people who are used to buying things at the touch of a button. That’s why Alabama Extension provides programming like “Your Money, Your Life.”
