Show 1021 – OYFF Winners the Loveladys – November

This week, we introduce this year’s Outstanding Young Farm Family winners. Whit and Amanda Lovelady started their farm over a decade ago with 10 mama cows who produced a crop of 11 calves (one had twins). Since then, they’ve taken on two purebred herds, expanded into direct sales of beef and pork, and started harvesting and selling hay. Plus, they’re raising their son and daughter at their Cedar Roost Ranch.

We hope you enjoy learning more about their family and everything they’ve done that helped them earn the title of Alabama’s 2024 Outstanding Young Farm Family. Click here to read more about all three finalists for this year’s award.

Plus, we continue our celebration of 10 years of Simply Southern with April Hall of Bobby’s Restaurant. Her restaurant was featured on the show a few years ago (and again this year) after being named Bama’s Best Chicken Tenders.

At Pizzelle’s Confections, you’ll discover cases full of beautiful chocolates that as much a treat for the eyes as they are for the tastebuds. Each confection features unique fillings with whimsical names to match. Now located at Huntsville’s Campus 805, the business is a dream come true for sister duo Michelle Novosel and Caitlin Lyon.

It’s the season of giving, and nothing says “Merry Christmas” better than locally grown goods. Elbow macaroni is a staple that’s always in the pantry. Mix it with a few fresh vegetables like red onion, peppers and celery, and you get this creamy, refreshing side dish of Macaroni Salad. Plus, Stacey Little of Southern Bite shares his secret for making sure a mayonnaise-based salad doesn’t dry out prior to serving.
