Show 1006 – The Mill at Prattville

Daniel Pratt founded the city of Prattville, building a gin factory along the banks of Autauga Creek and creating one of the first industrial towns in the South. After a years-long renovation, the remaining buildings of Pratt’s factory have now been converted into luxury apartments known as The Mill at Prattville.

Every social gathering in the South is made better when cheese straws are on the menu. Making them yourself is not a requirement thanks to Joyce’s Cheese Straws. The recipe is the creation of Selma’s Joyce Rylee, and you can find these salty, cheesy, spicy treats at retail locations across Alabama.

Brad Boydston always dreamed of being a farmer, just like his dad. Now, he’s running Boydston Hay Farms, providing high-quality, nutritious hay to other livestock producers. And when he needs products or even advice to help improve his farm, he looks to the employees of his local Alabama Farmers Cooperative store.

Also, enjoy a visit to Batter Up! restaurant in Childersburg. They’re one of six locations on The Catfish Trail. Take a tour of all the establishments to enjoy the best U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish.

Chocolate and cherries are a winning combination. Throw in the salty goodness of pistachios and pecans, mix it all with cookie dough, and you have a recipe for a new family favorite. Find out how to make these Chocolate Cherry Pistachio Pecan Cookies from Stacey Little of Southern Bite. And thanks to Priester’s Pecans for making this segment possible.
