Show 826 – Pies By Mike

Mike Graham knows a thing or two about creating hits as a former drummer for a Christian music band. Now, his big hits are coming out of ovens as he’s traded drumsticks for mixer blades to start the business Pies by Mike in Clanton. He’s created recipes for 25 types of pie, including his best-sellers pecan, fudge and toll house.

Visitors to the Montgomery Curb Market in downtown can whiff a beautiful bouquet of scents from The Lavender Pig all across the market. Owner Leigh Black makes all the bath and body products, including soaps, lotions, bath bombs and salves, and she loves being able to create something people enjoy.

As the days grow shorter and cooler, hunters start getting the itch to head out into the woods and enjoy a day seated about 20 feet off the ground. The folks at Alabama Department Conservation and Natural Resources and Outdoor Alabama are experts in that arena and share the most important information here.
