Show 1103 – Ag Careers Tour

Agriculture is a big industry, and there are a lot of career options available aside from becoming a farmers. Earlier this academic year, high school students attended an Ag Careers Tour hosted by the Madison County Soil & Water Conservation District. While there was a lot of fun to be had at the agritourism stop of Tate Farms, this event also yielded life lessons about various careers in agriculture — from financing and sales to computer programming and governmental relations.

There once was a time that most folks lived on a farm, and for those who didn’t, they had relatives that made their living off the land. Today, many people have no connection to agriculture at all, but thanks to modern technology and aspiring farmers, it’s easy to learn where your food and fiber comes from.
